CARY, NC -- Cary Family Dental cares about their patients, especially those patients that are teachers. As a way of providing relief to teachers who are dealing with larger class sizes and smaller resources, Cary Family Dental is offering a three-month Educator Rebate Program that will reimburse a qualifying teacher up to $50 for money spent on classroom supplies.

“I think we often take for granted the social and financial burden placed on our teachers,” says Dr. Allan Acton of Cary Family Dental. “In order to provide our children with the highest quality education, teachers work long hours and often take money out of their own pockets in order to buy materials and supplies for their classrooms. This rebate program is our way of recognizing their efforts and thanking them for all they do.”

Due to the potential response to this offer, Cary Family Dental is only able to provide this offer to teachers who are either new or current patients of their practice. Teachers must work in Wake County and have purchased supplies in 2009. Teachers wishing to take advantage of this rebate can download an Educator Rebate Form at http://www.carydental.com/images/teacher_rebate_form.pdf. Cary Family Dental’s Educator Rebate Program is available to the first 100 qualifying teachers and ends on November 30th.

“We hope to open this program up to every teacher in the future since they all deserve this kind of appreciation and financial assistance,” says Dr. Acton. “It would be great if other businesses would adopt a similar program in order to help ensure that all of our teachers, and ultimately our children, are taken care of.”

MDC Provost Appointed Chair of Bank of Florida's Miami-Dade County Advisory Board

Miami, Wednesday, July 15, 2009 - For nearly 50 years, Miami Dade College (MDC) employees have not only made contributions in the classroom, but also in the community. In fact, community involvement and civic engagement have been cornerstones at MDC with its administration leading by example.

The college's leaders presently serve on important local, statewide and national boards. Recently, MDC provost, Dr. Rolando Montoya, was appointed the chair of the Miami-Dade County Advisory Board of Bank of Florida by its Southeast Board of Directors.

'Dr. Montoya's many years of experience and excellent leadership have made him an ideal individual for this position,' said Roberto Pelaez, president of Bank of Florida of Miami-Dade County.

An employee of the college since 1987, Dr. Montoya has served in the positions of professor, department chairperson, dean of academic affairs, and president of the Wolfson Campus. In addition, he is a Certified Management Accountant and Certified Financial Manager.

As provost, he performs the functions of chief academic and operating officer including oversight of the college's human resources, facilities management, information technology, business operations, academic and student affairs. His services as a professor were recognized with the Carlos Arboleya/NationsBank and the Sun Trust Bank endowed teaching chairs, the highest faculty honors.

In addition to serving on the Miami-Dade County Advisory Board of Bank of Florida, Dr. Montoya currently serves as board member of Miami Downtown Development Authority, New World School of the Arts, South Florida Center for Financial Training, and The Chair Academy, among other organizations.

Before his employment at the College he served as a business executive in the fields of finance and accounting and as the Consul General of Costa Rica in Miami. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration, a master's degree in finance, and a doctoral degree in higher education administration.
